The Case Against Rent Control- A National Perspective
With the Illinois General Assembly considering legislation that could potentially result in rent control, we will explore what experiences other jurisdictions throughout the country have had with this form of regulation. Learn about its likely economic consequences and impact on local affordable housing and on local tax base.
Tenant Screening Deep Dive
As COVID-19 continues to cause major disruptions to the multifamily industry for over a year now, housing providers have been forced to adapt in many different ways. How have your tenant screening practices changed?
Analyzing a prospective tenant’s application can be complicated enough during normal times, and even more so now with an ongoing eviction moratorium that leaves no room for error in your screening process.
We invite you to this “members-only” event where our conversation will focus on new screening policies, interpreting credit scores, analyzing income, reviewing applicants with a Section 8 voucher, reviewing applicants with no credit history, and synthesizing all of this to make good screening decisions.
Please register for the event as soon as possible. A short survey will be circulated to the attendees in advance to capture information about our screening processes and will be shared during the event.
If you have not yet registered for your 2021 NSBC membership, now is the time! JOIN NSBC.
Property Management Best Practices Webinar
After a brief introduction, we will be placing all attendees into four breakout rooms. Our industry experts will rotate between rooms so they can deliver engaging content and hold conversations within these intimate groups. Once everyone has had a chance to hear from each expert, we will bring all attendees back to the main room for a wrap up.
Evaluating The Eviction Moratorium
Join NBOA as we continue with our popular series of virtual Friday Happy Hours - once again tackling a sober topic: the eviction moratorium.
By now, most of us know about Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order modifying the state wide moratorium so that it closely follows the CDC’s guidelines issued last September.
How does this effect all of us? How do we move forward?
Grab your favorite beverage and hear from industry experts - all associated with the NBOA and our affiliates, and don’t hold it against us that they are all lawyers!!!
