Navigating the Eviction Process

Please join us for our next Lunch and Learn at Colletti’s on May 18th. NSBC Board Member, Jeff Weinberg, will moderate a panel discussion focused on navigating the eviction process. Jeff and panelists will cover proper notice, housing provider and tenant rights, and the court process with additional time for Q&A. Lunch will be provided. We hope you can join us!

Panelists:

Tom Raleigh started his law firm, Halsted Law Group, in March of 2014. Halsted represents several landlords across the Chicago land area. His growing practice focuses on evictions, building violations as well as landlord compliance & consultation.

 Before starting his law practice, Tom gained his experience while working for a large multi-family operator, Pangea Real Estate, as its general counsel. While their portfolio grew to over 10,000 multi-family units across Chicago and other cities, Tom was involved in several facets of its business which included development of property management policies & procedures, improving its collections/evictions process, as well as management of the day to day legal affairs. Tom is also a member of Chicagoland Apartment Association’s legislative committee. 

 Before moving to Chicago, Tom graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003, and earned his juris doctor at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2006. 

Dan Sider is the Director of Property Management at Root Realty, Inc.

 Danny joined Root in 2016 as a property manager, and in that role oversaw the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of Root managed properties.   Over 30 million in assets managed includes multifamily and mixed-use properties.   In January 2019, Danny was promoted to Director of Property Management.   As director, he leads and oversees Root Realty’s property management, leasing, and maintenance operations.   Danny combines hands-on property management experience with strategic and organizational planning to drive client satisfaction and property performance.
